How to clean Cricut Cutting Mats

Hassle-Free Ways to Clean Your Cricut Cutting Mat: Tips and Tricks

It’s super simple to clean your Cricut cutting mat using baby wipes!

Use alcohol-free baby wipes. They shouldn’t have aloe or fragrance added either. I use this kind from Walmart.

See how dirty my mat is? Small fibers from cardstock are everywhere.

Rub a baby wipe all over the mat. Scrub in circles to pick everything up. You don’t want to scrub HARD, but rub with light pressure several times over the mat.

Lots of paper fibers and glitter came off.

Much better. Now, let the mat air-dry for several hours.

Notice all of the cut lines in the corners? Design Space automatically puts every design to be cut in the top left corner. This causes more wear in this spot.

You can simply load your mat in your Cricut the opposite way (upside down) to help the mat wear more evenly.

If your mat is extremely dirty, you can wash it gently in the sink using dish soap and warm water. Then, let it air dry for 24 hours.

Eventually, mats do wear out and need to be replaced. If your material isn’t sticking to the mat, it may be time to get a new one.

You can use painter’s tape to hold down the material for a while… but it’s so much easier to just have a sticky mat that works properly.
