Elf on the Shelf – easy ideas with free printable PDF note cards

Here are four more ideas for your Elf on the Shelf. They all have free printable PDF signs. (Download instructions are at the bottom of the page.)

Elf on the Shelf’s Baby Elf Daycare

I saw the ‘nanny elf’ idea here and just had to do it! The strollers are from Dollar Tree. If you’re lucky, you might be able to find tiny baby bottles there too! (The baby bottles are with the strollers in the baby party section. They were never in stock at the stores I checked.)

I cut a piece of felt for a burb cloth.

The Lego men are wrapped in scraps of an old sheet.

I swaddled the “baby” he’s holding and held the swaddle in place with a drop of hot glue.

Prop the sign against something soft and cuddly and you have a daycare!

The part that took the longest was finding the right Lego men. I didn’t want to use faces with beards or scarves. It was also a challenge finding the right hats for them. (We have tons of Ninjago and Star Wars Lego.)

Collecting Your Color Sticky Note Game – Elf on the Shelf

Grab a pack of the small sticky notes at the dollar store.

Each kid gets a different color. (If you have less than 4 kids, leave out either yellow or green. They were a bit hard to tell the difference in.)

You can either have them all go at the same time and see who is done first, or you can time each child separately.

Elf on the Shelf gave all of the dolls a mustache

This is one of those super-easy-should-do-it-every-year setups.

The mustaches are from Dollar Tree.

Elf on the Shelf – at the Beach

Elves like sunshine too!

I cut the sunglasses out of black cardstock. (I had planned on using LOL doll sunglasses, but they were too small.)

Use brown sugar for the sand and get a package of shells from Dollar Tree (in the decorations section.)

I cleaned out a used K-cup to pack the “sand” in and make a sandcastle.

The flags are toothpicks with scraps of red paper glued on.

Set it up under a desk lamp for beach vibes.

All four of these free printable signs are in the Free Files Folder. They’re design # 94 – Elf on the Shelf (sticky note game – daycare – beach – mustache).

It’s fun! They love having a little more “magic” every day.
